Production Note #20
Welcome to our 20th Production Note!
As predicted, the last days have been rather slow because of a lot of out-of-town business for Wolfgang. However, some things did move forward:
On Monday, Wolfgang met up with his web designer, and they worked on a concept for the film website. Following this, Wolfgang worked out the content structure for the website. The designer will start working on it next week. We’ll launch the website together with our first trailer, so it will take a little more time until you’ll get to see it.
Lisa was having some technical problems with her editing computer, resulting in no editing progress in the last two weeks. But we’re confident that she’ll be able to work again next week, bringing us closer to our long-desired Picture Lock-status.
Stefan worked on finding a color grader and was able to secure a very well established studio – but only for June, maybe May if we’re lucky. Since the color grading is pretty much the last step in our production process, this means that the movie will be ready in June the latest. However, we’ll probably start applying to film festival in May when the titles are final and we have a Picture Lock.
And today, Wolfgang worked with the title designer on the film lettering (which is pretty much the film logo), the front title cards, the captions and the end credits. It seems like they found a very good coherent style that fits for practically all written elements in the movie. There’s one image that needs a lot of text captions, this one image probably needs some more text captions work. But we’ll get to it.
That’s about it for this week. For next week, we expect to close the deal with our sound editor/sound designer and hopefully make another step in the editing process. Also, work on the website will begin, which means we’ll have to come up with lots of texts and images and other content.
