Production Note #21
It was a good week. We made progress on many levels in the last couple of days.
Lisa was about to resume editing after a long break (due to some technical problems) on Wednesday, so we tried to finish the titles until Wednesday in order for Lisa to integrate them in the movie.
Klaus, our title designer, worked extra hard to finish all the titles that we needed. We’re talking about the title cards at the beginning, all the text information given in the movie (eg. about interview partners and locations) and of course the end credits in combination with the pretty awesome video that we’re using during the end credits.
This meant that we had to get a lot of facts straight – practically everything that’s in the end credits. We’ve already had most of the names and facts required, but this week, we made many small steps and got many more facts and names cleared. While working on this, it also came up that one of Leo’s songs is actually not written by him (and is neither a traditional), so we had to clear that song. Luckily, and with the help of Vencie, Leo’s manager, this worked out fast and easily.
Klaus pretty much finished all titles until Wednesday, there are only a couple of smaller items, corrections and questions still open that we didn’t think of before. So we’d say the titles are at something like 90 % by now.
Lisa integrated all titles in the movie, she also polished some scenes and did a few minor changes, but she hasn’t released a new version yet. We can’t wait to see a new version including the titles, but it will probably take some more days until we’re there again.
Our web designer, David, worked the whole week on setting up the page, first on a technical level where Wolfgang also had to dig up some information from the webspace provider, then in terms of design.
David sent some first design drafts today, and let us tell you, they look great. Our website will be totally awesome. We’ll probably spend a lot of time next week creating content for the website – that just didn’t happen this week.
That’s all for this week, folks. We hope to see another version of our movie next week which should be pretty close to picture lock.
